Human Resource Services: United Way thank you; Employee Wellness Newsletter; Marisha Hamm reporting change

Thank You for Your Generous Support of United Way!

Dear Whitworth Community,

Over the past several years, you have had the opportunity to invest in the greater Spokane area and our neighbors in need by giving to United Way. This year, we had an increase of participants, and our donations increased by 17 percent over last year. We are happy with this growth and impressed by your generosity! Thank you for making a difference by giving to those in need.

Dolores Humiston, on behalf of United Way of Spokane

Marisha Hamm Reporting Change

Marisha Hamm, the university’s environmental health and safety officer, will begin reporting directly to Brian Benzel, vice president for finance and administration. Marisha will continue to work closely with Facility Services, but the new reporting structure will more clearly communicate the campus-wide nature of her safety, environmental and risk management responsibilities.

“It is our goal to serve students, faculty and staff by continuing to make health, safety and risk management responsibilities a high priority,” Brian Benzel says. Marisha’s office will relocate to the chapel until a more permanent location is determined. Whitworth Campus Security will remain located within Facility Services.
