Notice: Whitworth Does Not Provide Insurance Coverage for Personal Property

Dear Whitworth Faculty and Staff,

The university carries liability, property and casualty insurance that covers all employees for their work on behalf of the university. A sophisticated and routine system is in place to make sure that the property of the university is properly insured against loss and damage.

Because it is not possible to know the extent of personal property that you may bring to campus, the university is not able to provide such insurance coverage for your personal possessions. Such items as art, computers, office equipment, books and other items that are your personal property may well be covered by your personal insurance. If you have valuable property on campus, you would be well-served to contact your personal insurance agent to obtain the proper level of coverage for your circumstances. Thank you.
